2005 Ash Bash

Looking for a hot game? How about one on an old volcano?
Airsoft Hawaii ASH BASH
July 16, 2005
Last year they had over 300 players and the game was featured in ARMS Magazine.
For more information on this years event check out their website!
The organizers also have a new online magazine.
Now, I'm not sure you'll actually get to see anything that actually resembles a volcano DURING the game, but it is in Hawaii so you can always go see one afterwards.

Seamless Airsoft 6mm Paintballs

Airsoft Solutions is offering a new product advertised as being a safe 6mm paintball for use in AEG or GBB airsoft guns. The paintballs are seamless and practically perfectly round as well as 100% biodegradeable. There are various environments (police training) where it would be nice to have airsoft guns with the ability to mark targets when hit. Until now, 6mm paintballs have been very cheap and full of imperfections making them highly prone to breaking inside your gun. Could Airsoft Solutions come up with a working alternative? Hopefully we will get our hands on some of these soons and work up a complete review. Here is their page with the details on the products as well as the results of their tests: 6mm Airsoft Paintballs

New Hero Arms Parts for G&G M14 Rifle

The G&G M14 rifle has just been released and we are already seeing aftermarket parts being manufactured for it. Hero Arms has taken the head start and has already released a new flash hider, reinforced outer barrel and scope mount for the G&G M14 rifle. The Hero Arms M14 scope mount features full Springfield Armory trademarks and looks very authentic. WGC Shop has these parts in stock and ready to ship, however, the G&G M14 is out of stock in most retailers at the moment.

Guarder / STAR M14 SOPMOD AEG

The joint project development of the M14 SOPMOD AEG between Guarder and STAR has finally completed and this newly designed airsoft rifle is already available from retailers in Japan and Hong Kong. It will be interesting to see what the cooperation of Guarder and STAR has done to this airsoft rifle. This project is really the first of its kind in terms of two airsoft companies cooperating together. My guess it that Guarder did the main design and internal work while STAR manufacturered most of the asthetic components. Whether this partnership worked well will really depend on quality and reliability.

Chandler toy-gun airsoft law needs to be repealed

Arecent interview portrayed Airsoft guns as dangerous and destructive. The destructive force of the projectile of these so-called weapons can and does leave a welt but rarely. It is very unlikely to break window glass or scratch car paint. Are these guns too much for use in a public park around smaller children? Perhaps. A criminal act? No.Yet Chandler feels it necessary to have on its books the recently publicized ordinance 11-6, a law that makes it a crime merely to possess such an instrument. I say instrument because the law states that the possession of any instrument capable of firing a projectile qualifies. You do not actually have to fire it, harm anyone, harass anyone or damage anything. If your 7-year-old goes into a store and buys a Nerf gun, unwraps it, and emerges into a public place, then 11-6 has been violated. If this isn't enough, Chandler makes this a Class 1 Misdemeanor, a criminal offense. It is punishable up to six months in jail and/or a $2,500 fine. According to the federal courts, and the state, a misdemeanor does not entitle you to a trial by jury. You will be tried by a judge who is paid by Chandler.

OAS_AD('BoxAd')
Chandler police showed up on my door because a friend of my son was shooting a soft-air gun from my son's car. Nobody was hurt, nobody was threatened. The witnesses to this crime were concerned there might be property damage, but there is none. Now both my son and his friend are being prosecuted for a crime, and in practice, a cranky judge could require that both of them spend time in jail.Rest assured, I am not happy with my son's actions, and he got in trouble for it, and the gun (read that toy) was taken. But the actions of the police and our government are way out of line considering the offense. My elected officials tell me that no police officer would ever cite someone violating this law unless some harm was done. They tell me that he might have been shot. Yes, that is indeed a real risk, and if I throw a banana peel out on the sidewalk, someone may slip and they may break their neck, but that doesn't make it a criminal act. We cannot punish based on the extreme bad luck scenario. A crime is all about intent.I recommend several remedies, all of them needed, since our government has apparently lost its good sense and perspective. I call upon the Chandler City Council to repeal this ordinance immediately. If another is needed in its place, then I recommend civil fines only, and that it require that someone actually does harm in some way, not merely possess a projectile-shooting toy. Prohibition from places of common public enjoyment, such as a park, makes sense, provided it is in plain view (not in a vehicle).I call upon the Arizona Legislature to remove from cities the right to pass local criminal statutes, and limit severely the amount of a civil fine, say not to exceed $2,500.A crime should be known intuitively. It should involve intent to harm or profit at the unwilling expense of another. Not the mere possession of something like a toy. If it's serious enough to be jailed for, it's serious enough for one standard statewide. Lastly, I call upon the federal government and the state Legislature to restore our constitutional right to jury trial by peers. The incarceration of someone even for one day is too harsh a punishment to not have a right to a jury, and there are no limits on how high a fine can be. The state can take your life assets away from you without so much as a nod by your peers. Folks, do you have any idea just how far your government has gone in the name of expediency and convenience? Apparently, the only toys that are dangerous is the law, which is being treated like a toy by our government.

Some updates from the globe

Well TokyoMarui have added news to their site and confirmed that their GBB P226 will be released on the 14 of April, you can see their own page for the release here. If you want to pre-order the piece, AirsoftDynamics are retailing the P226 pistol at 115UKP and are charging 25UKP for spare mags.
Over at Big-Out (Japan) they've posted news of a lanyard style power cord for TM's electric G18C. Not a bad idea I think that one, as with a decent external pack you've probably got the most reliable backup piece you could wish for. They'll be selling the complete kit and instructions to fit one yourself for around 5,000 Yen, and if the Big-Out model doesn't make it to places that export the the West I'm sure someone will produce a very similar design shortly that does.
ClassicArmy have updated their website with a leaflet for their M15 CQB and also a poster for the CQB.
Over at Craft Apple Works they are selling some custom MEU pistols that they've worked on. There aren't going to be many made available so if you're lucky enough to be able to order direct you'll have to move fast. The custom pistols sport accurate decals on both the early and late models including Springfield markings and retail at around 24,000 Yen.
At ClubMichelle there's two mini reviews of some new replica grenades that are available. I'm not familiar with them myself, however they the designs look to be Japanese in origin (there's one here, and another here).
Meanwhile over at Depot53's news and review area they've added details that they've expanded their site with technical manuals for readers, plsu added some news about some training manuals and details on the GuayGuay M14 AEG.
The guys at Nato-Works are making some custom PA-MAS pistols that are the French variant of the M92. The pistol is based on the KJ Works full metal M9 to make their life easier, which is understandable as there's no point reinventing the wheel. No details on cost yet, but the pistol shoudl surface at your local HK dealers and suppliers shortly.
Troy Industries seem to be a popular 'gucci' firm to copy at the moment, which is quite understandable I guess as their gear is very different and does look quite nice so long as you don't mind rails. Over at Armored Gallery they have two new productions that are Troy Industries varients by the name of the CQB-SPC A4 and A5.

In website updates the guys at AirsoftRetreat have added a review of a RockMount bipod written by joesnuffie. If you're looking for a bipod and are on a budget then this could be the one for you.
I've just upgraded my VSR-10 to 550 FPS and next on my list was a bi-pod. I was in WalMart looking for new rings for my scope when I noticed a new product on the shelves in the firearms accessories department - the RockMount bi-pod. I picked it up and looked it over, making sure it would fit my VSR-10. The VSR-10, as well as many other airsoft sniper rifles and real rifles, have a steel sling mount eyelet where you would attach a sling. This eyelet is also where many bi-pods will attach. This particular bi-pod is the type that fits into this eyelet and not a RIS. After seeing that it would be a perfect fit, and that the price of $39.99 was cheaper than anywhere I'd been looking online, I called a friend who also wanted one and I bought the last two. joesnuffie, (AirsoftRetreat)
there's loads more to add.. but I'm running short on time. More later
